Introduction
Paraffin is the most commonly used medium for infiltration, embedding and creating tissue blocks. It enables the processing of large amounts of tissue samples in a short period of time, serial samples can be easily obtained. Routine staining, but also the most complicated ones can be done simply. BioGnost’s BioWax Blue paraffin is highly purified paraffin wax, highly processed with added synthetic polymers that enable fast impregnation of tissue samples. It is recommended for use in processes that include immunoperoxidase. Paraffin wax that is stained blue makes visualization of needle biopsies easier by enhancing the tissue sample’s contrast when observed under the microscope. Its granulated form allows easier handling and faster melting with a melting point at 54°C/57°C. Sections can then be stained using standard histological techniques or use in different immunohistochemical and molecular-biological reactions.
