Introduction
Paraffin is the most commonly used medium for infiltration, embedding and creating tissue blocks. It enables the processing of large amounts of tissue samples in a short period of time; serial samples can be easily obtained. Routine staining, but also the most complicated ones can be done simply. BioGnost’s BioWax 52/54 paraffin is an optimal blend of paraffin wax without added dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Enables excellent infiltration into tissues and reduces the tendency of tissue to crack. Its granulated form allows easier handling and faster melting with a melting point between 52oC and 54oC. It is recommended for processing sensitive tissues that require infiltration at lower temperatures in order to prevent tissue damage and preserve its morphology. Added micro crystals secure complete tissue infiltration with keeping the highest standards in clearing procedures and tissue blocks sectioning. Sections can then be stained using standard histological techniques or use in different immunohistochemical and molecular-biological reactions.
