Eosin reagents
Eosin Y (yellowish eosin) solutions are commonly used as a counterstain to hematoxylin in the standard histology HE staining method. Eosin Y is an anionic dye that stains basic cell components (such as cytoplasm, collagen, muscle fibers and erythrocytes) bright red.
